Trip Overview

Join the Department of Community Care and Counseling on a cultural immersion experience to Greece where students will experience a variety of learning opportunities in this ancient yet vibrant, modern culture. Students will have the opportunity to engage in cultural learning through activities that introduce them to the Greek culture as well as offer them insight into the history of the culture and its people. Students will also learn more about the global concern of human trafficking and how survivors of trafficking are receiving aid within the context of this culture. Mental health professionals, pastoral counseling students, and students of Community Care and Counseling will be able to consider evidence-based treatments for trauma within the setting of the Grecian context. Students will also be able to take part in service opportunities through the ministries that will be visited on the trip. Other cultural engagements will include tours in Athens of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum as well as tours of other ancient ruins and will conclude with a respite and cultural tours on a local Island.
