Program Description:

What is the Hands and Feet Team?

LU Send Now's Hands and Feet Team primarily assists in humanitarian aid by offering cleanup, rebuild, and other physical needs after a disaster. Our mission is to share hope in despair through service projects and the love we demonstrate to those we’re serving. This humanitarian aid in our Hands and Feet Team complements the emotional support in psychological and spiritual aid offered through our Head and Heart Team. Both teams are equally important, with different focuses as we seek to meet tangible and spiritual needs just as Jesus did.

How could I deploy with LU Send Now?

The process to be sent out with Send Now in disaster response requires the following steps:
  • Apply online and pay a $100 administrative fee. The rest is paid for if you are deployed! No additional costs to you.
  • Attend corresponding trainings to qualify your acceptance.
  • Wait for a “call out form” that will be sent to your email as crises or disasters arise.
  • Respond to the “call out form” as soon as possible, as trips fill up quickly and be ready to deploy within a few days.

What would a deployment look like?"

Deployments with LU Send Now means committing to traveling on a moments notices when a “call form” is sent to your email. If selected (not all participants will be guaranteed deployment), it means:
  • Gearing up to jump on a bus and/or plane within just a day or two.
  • Head to a disaster zone or crisis situation.
  • Most often sleep on air mattresses on church floors, occasionally hotels.
  • Live and serve with like-minded volunteers.
  • Perform physical labor in service projects for restoration.
  • Be encouraged by believers of all ages serving with you.
  • Watch the Lord work mightily in your life and the lives of those you’re ministering.
  • Travel home with a full heart that’s bursting with love for people and the joy of the Lord.
Prayerfully consider serving with us. This could mean in our very own Lynchburg, in the USA, or across the world. Scripture tells us to go in our Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
