Program Description:
CIEE January Tropical Marine Ecology and Conservation Program in Kralendijk, Bonaire

“Bon bini!” is how locals say “Welcome” on the Caribbean island of Bonaire, home to one of the Earth’s most diverse and beautiful marine habitats. On our January Tropical Marine Ecology and Conservation program, you’ll take part in specialized dive training and field research methods that result in Scientific Diver certification with the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS).

Study abroad in Kralendijk and you’ll:
  • Develop and use scuba, photography, and videography skills to document and understand the ecology of coral reefs and associated ecosystems
  • Increase your dive skills and emergency response skills to a professional scientific diver level
  • Learn to identify reef fish, corals, and other organisms and their behavioral interactions
