Application Process
Requirements to Apply
Before going on a trip, there are a few requirements that need to be met.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA (Higher for some locations and programs)
  • Minimum of 24 credits completed by program date (sophomore, or higher grade level)
  • Good standing with the Office of Student Affairs
  • Adequate financial resources and/or financial aid to cover necessary expenses
  • No outstanding balances on student account at Liberty University
  • Enrolled in a minimum 12 credit hours if during Fall/Spring semesters
  • Liberty's partner organizations may have specific requirements within their individual programs
Application Instructions
After understanding the different requirements, you can begin setting up your advising appointment, and choosing your internship program.
  1. Complete the International Internships Advising form. This form will allow LU Send to better understand what opportunities you may be interest in.
  2. LU Send will contact you via email to schedule your initial advising meeting. You will be given instructions on the next steps to take during this meeting. Please allow at least 48 hours for LU Send to reach out to you. If you have not heard back within 48 hours, please email lusendintlinternships@liberty.edu and let us know.
  3. Determine your International Internship program of choice.
  4. Schedule your Second Advising Meeting with LU Send. During your first advising meeting, your advisor will provide you go over the International Internship process and the requirements one must meet in order to be approved.
Pre-Departure
There are 3 things that need to be completed prio to your departure to prepare you for your internship.
  1. Be sure all passport and visa details are valid (not expired) and accurate.
  2. Complete financial check-in.
  3. Attend the pre-departure meeting. Dates, times and locations will be given via email to all students who are committed to their International Internship programs.
